Weddings

It may be possible to celebrate your wedding ceremony at St John’s if  at least one of you lives in our parish (follow this link to check if you’re in St Johns’ parish) or is on our church electoral roll, or if one of you

• was baptised here; or
• was confirmed through St Johns' church; or
• have at any time had your usual place of residence in the parish for at least 6 months; or
• have at any time habitually attended St Johns' church for at least 6 months

or

you or your partner's parent/s have at any time during their lifetime

• had his or her usual residence in the parish for at least 6 months; or
• habitually attended St Johns' church for at least 6 months

or

your parents or grandparents were married in St Johns’.

In addition to the usual legal requirements you must be a bachelor, spinster, widow or widower. Those who have been married previously, with a former husband or wife still living, may not be married at St Johns’. However, please do talk with us as we may still be able to celebrate you wedding in church with a special Service of Prayer and Dedication after a civil ceremony.
